A sizeable (200 cm.) storm in November has provided generally stable avalanche conditions in Gulmarg. Noteably near the ground, the snowpack lacks the volume and size of large facets which can cause persistant dangerous avalanche conditions for the entire season. As an added bonus, in most cases, weak layers within the entire snowpack have either stabilized or been flushed out adequately during ensuing cycles of storm loading. Primary concern for the near future will be avalanches triggered within new storm snow typically failing where it fails to bond well with the old snow surface.
