Bottom Line
How to read the advisoryAn enormous amount of weight in new snow is stressing the old previous snowpack. Winds from the Southerly direction may transport this new snow increasing the weight (and risk of avalanches) on North facing alpine aspects by factors. Winds have remained relatively light. The risk of natural and human triggered avalanches in the alpine region today remains HIGH. At lower elevations the avalanche problem is new storm snow easily triggering loose snow avalanches on all aspects with steep, open slopes.
